About the pledge

For climate, for communities, and for a safe and secure future, we must Keep Ireland LNG Free. We are therefore inviting Irish Politicians to sign our Pledge in support of the campaign to prevent LNG infrastructure in Ireland.

The Pledge:

For climate, for communities, and for a safe and secure future, we must Keep Ireland LNG Free. I oppose the development of LNG terminals in Ireland.

Signing this pledge makes you part of a cross-party and community-based campaign advocating for a safe and clean future for Ireland.

It signals to your supporters and constituents that you have heard the increasing call of the Irish public to support renewables over fossil fuels: 90% of [Irish] people say the country should do what it can to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions.

Share the campaign

By sharing your support of the campaign on social media, at events, in newsletters etc., you can inform your constituents and the wider public about the importance of Keeping Ireland LNG Free and your work in trying to safeguard our future.
Discuss with colleagues

You can support the campaign by raising the issue with your colleagues and in the Dáil and Seanad. The support of elected politicians is vital for ensuring the success of the campaign and through your connections, you can contribute to building this support.
Attend Campaign Events

Throughout this campaign we will be hosting numerous events. Signees will be given advanced notice of any events. We also encourage you to host events of your own in which we can provide support.
Vote for the Bill!

We would of course appreciate any public commitments to vote for the LNG Free Bill when it is selected for voting in the Dáil. A legislative ban ensures that we don’t get locked in to fossil fuel infrastructure for the next 30-40 years.
